CAMP OVERVIEW

Bringing one of our most loved days to Magrath!

As we explore we will soon find ourselves lost, oh no!! Now what!? In the beginning of our day we will tackle the biggest concerns during survival….shelter, fire, find/filter/purify water, and what’s edible…. using the nature around us and few hiking essentials to aid our way. We will touch on signalling, remote first aid, wild animals, and the importance of staying calm during survival! … Who knows what challenges may come….

Once “rescued” we will head down to our favourite watering hole to cool off. Where wildlings will have at the opportunity to explore, wild craft, make primitive paints, construct nature boats and simply allow their feet and interests to guide us… possibilities are endless!

Topics Covered Include:
• 5 C’s to packing
• Water Sources/Purification
• Emergency signalling
• Animal encounters
• Remote First Aid (one new skill)
• Understanding priorities when encountering survival situations
• Fire Craft: How to make survival fires under extreme conditions and their importance in survival situations
• Shelter: How to build a survival shelter including choosing proper locations, using improvised materials, shelter types, and survival camping techniques
• Understanding and evaluating risk and hazards outdoors
