Academy in the Wild leaders are First Aid trained, carry a first aid kit and complete regular risk assessments of sites and activities. In addition to this, on the spot safety assessments are conducted to ensure the natural area does not contain obvious hazards that pose immediate risks to the participants.
All of our Forest School leaders, assistants and volunteers are required to read and follow Academy in the Wild’s policies and procedures with regards to safety. We will work to do whatever we can to ensure the safety of our Forest School participants whilst delivering a program true to the Forest School ethos in a natural setting. Despite our constant efforts to navigate and control risk, nature can be unpredictable.
